Wow...

Nobody ever posts here. That's sad :(

Anyway, my name is Melanie. I just joined this community the other day, and thought I would introduce myself now that I have a chance. I've been in love with The Wizard of Oz for as long as I can remember, and I've recently begun collecting the books as well :)

Hello. Through some random surfing amidst various interests, loves, loves lost, etc, I landed here somehow from my own LABYRINTH (http://www.jamieleigh.net (http://www.jamieleigh.net)). Although you do not know me, nor my own story, history, past, current life, current prison, hurt, pain, sufferings, longings, needings, cravings, I hope that you at least take the time to read these words that I have crafted together and taken from my own personal diary within my creative walls, labyrinth as I humbly named them, found directly here (http://www.jamieleigh.net). I hope you can understand my intent and concern within them, and the reason that I landed here, by chance, by complete obscurity, by fate, by no reason whatsoever, to share them with you. In return I hope you find something within them to relate to, find some sense of comfort in knowing (and I say this as strongly as words can speak) you are not alone... I am alone, yet I have found in my current pains in and out that as long as I keep offering myself to others through my gift, my compassion, my true caring for strangers, those in need, I have enough reason to keep some element of hope alive despite the immense pain deep inside. If you find time, you will read my words and find any answers you might be searching for, and I hope you continue to carry on with me and follow me through the upcoming journey.

A mystery in waiting... (mailto:jamieleighdotnet@hotmail.com)

"Little Susie"

Somebody killed little Susie
The girl with the tune
Who sings in the daytime at noon
She was there screaming
Beating her voice in her doom
But nobody came to her soon...

A fall down the stairs
Her dress torn
Oh the blood in her hair...
A mystery so sullen in air
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care,
Oh the blood in her hair...

Everyone came to see
The girl that now is dead
So blind stare the eyes in her head...
And suddenly a voice from the crowd said
This girl lived in vain
Her face bear such agony, such strain...

But only the man from next door
Knew Little Susie and how he cried
As he reached down
To close Susie's eyes...
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care
Oh the blood in her hair...

It was all for God's sake
For her singing the tune
For someone to feel her despair
To be damned to know hoping is dead and you're doomed
Then to scream out
And nobody's there...

She knew no one cared...

Father left home, poor mother died
Leaving Susie alone
Grandfather's soul too had flown...
No one to care
Just to love her
How much can one bear
Rejecting the needs in her prayers...

Neglection can kill
Like a knife in your soul
Oh it will
Little Susie fought so hard to live...
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care
So young and so fair

"Come," says E.T. "Stay," says Elliott. E.T. lifts his finger to his lips and quietly says "ouch."
Elliott, nearing tears, does the same. E.T. and Elliott hug each other, surrounded by blue and white lights. Elliott and Mary exchange glances as Mike and Gertie stand by and watch. Then E.T. lifts his finger to Elliott's forehead. It lights up, causing Elliott to flinch. E.T. says: "I'll be right here." E.T. picks up the potted plant and carries it up the gangplank. Elliott watches from below as Harvey starts up the plank, then returns to his side. The gangplank lifts up and separates E.T. from Elliott. The ship's circular entrance closes. The spaceship lifts off. Elliott watches it float up slowly into the twilight. Then it suddenly, silently speeds away, leaving behind an orange-blue rainbow. The film ends with a close-up of Elliott's face gazing up into the sky.

Tis true my form is something odd.
But blaming me is blaming God;
Could I create myself anew,
I would not fail in pleasing you.
If I could reach from pole to pole,
Or grasp the ocean with a span,
I would be measured by the soul,
The heart's the standard of the man.
